What is TRE®?
TRE® is a powerful method for experiencing relief from stress, anxiety, and trauma, by releasing deeply held tension in the body.
TRE® unravels chronic patterns of stress and tension stored in the muscles and discharges stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol by activating the body's natural ability to shake or tremor. This innate tremor mechanism exists in all mammals and is used by animals in the wild to come down from the fight-flight-freeze response.
TRE® is simple to learn and can be used as a self-care tool at home on an ongoing basis. It is highly effective for both managing daily stress and in the recovery from long-standing and early trauma. With consistent practice, TRE® brings about a balanced, regulated nervous system, transforming your natural state to one of calm, vibrant health and joy.
Who can benefit from TRE®?
TRE® is for you if:
You are overwhelmed by the intensity of modern life and suffering from stress, anxiety or burnout
You have experienced trauma, or are living with depression or in chronic pain
You are simply curious to give shaking a go and want to experience more calm, joy and vitality in your life
How can TRE® help me?
People all over the world have reported a variety of benefits from consistently practicing TRE®, including:
Reduced stress and anxiety
Greater emotional resilience
Greater calm, vitality and joy
Reduced muscle and back pain
Healing of old injuries
Relief from chronic medical conditions
Reduced symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
What happens in a typical TRE® session?
Whether you are learning TRE® in a one-to-one or group setting, the format remains the same. You will be lead through a series of stretches designed to fatigue the muscles and invoke the body's innate ability to shake. We then lie on the mat and allow the tremors to move through the body naturally. Many people feel a sense of relaxation during and after TRE® and others experience a physical or emotional release during the session.
How long will it take to learn TRE®?
Most people need between three to six sessions with a TRE® facilitator in either a private or group setting before being able to safely practice on their own at home.
